WETHERSFIELD — Less than 10 seconds had elapsed and Abigail Corning was already getting floor burns.

Erin and Brenna Verre weren’t smiling. Amanda Cormier had that tell-tale fire in her eyes.

Wethersfield meant business. The Eagles remembered all too well that their first Class L tournament game last year went awry even though it was played in their own nest.

Firefighters Wine and Dine

Wethersfield’s Wine Festivities

The Wethersfield Volunteer Firefighters Association held its 4th annual beer and wine tasting at the William Pitkin Community Center. (2/26/09)

The Volunteer Firefighters Association of Wethersfield  held its 4th annual beer and wine tasting at the William Pitkin Community Center located at 30 Greenfield St. All profits from this fund raiser will benefit the WVFA Scholarship Fund which annually awards scholarships to Wethersfield’s Volunteer Firefighters and their children who attend college or technical school.
